Power-pop striplings Sing It Loud will release their debut full-length album, Come Around, on September 23rd via Epitaph Records. The electrifying quintet has made a name for themselves in the classic D.I.Y way: touring non-stop across the country, bringing their energetic live shows to big cities and small towns alike and selling their self-titled EP at shows and on-line. And with the release of Come Around, all that hard work is finally paying off.
Produced by Motion City Soundtrack guitarist Josh Cain (Metro Station) and mixed by Mark Trombino (Jimmy Eat World, Blink 182), Come Around combines bright catchy melodies, buzzing synths and rocking riffs for one of the year's most vibrant power-pop albums. Tackling the timeless subject of young love and heartache with a playful attitude that makes even the worst teenage dramas seem doable, Sing It Loud have crafted eleven non-stop, head-bopping songs like the contagious, hook laden title track "Come Around," the defiant "Don't Save Me," the emotive sing-along "Best Beating Heart" and next summer's anthem "Over You." The long player also includes cameos by Justin Pierre of Motion City Soundtrack on "We're Not Afraid" and All Time Low's Alex Gaskarth on "No One Can Touch Us."
"Come Around is a feel good pop-rock record that people can relate to and grow-up with," says Kieren Smith (Guitar/Vocals). "It has a definitive and original sound that gives fans a clear view of what Sing It Loud really is."
Smith, along with his charismatic bandmates Pat Brown (Guitar/Lead Vocals), Nate Flynn (Bass), Ben Peterson (Keys) and Chris Lee (Drums), will hit the road with Valencia beginning August 27th in Baltimore followed by a headlining tour and opening support for Cobra Starship this fall.

Vampire Weekend apparently covered this Fleetwod Mac song at a recent radio session for Australia's Triple J. The track is from the 1987 album Tango in the Night, and it's been years since I've heard the original, but the thing that sticks out most about Vampire Weekend's cover is how closely Ezra Koenig sticks to Christine McVie's distinctive phrasing. You can hear her inside of it, despite the music being reworked to suit Vampire Weekend's leaner, more propulsive style. (via Pretty Much Amazing)
